Telkom's 53 properties to hit the auction floor
Telecommunications provider Telkom has partnered with GoIndustry Dovebid SA to dispose of 53 properties on auction. The portfolio includes land, commercial and industrial buildings across South Africa.
Bidding opens on 13 March and closes on 18 March 2020. Properties comprise vacant land, double-storey and single-storey buildings.
The semi-privatised state owned entity said in a statement that it has been undergoing a process of modernising the network for some time.

Telkom has been systematically selling off its properties over the past six years and has tasked auction firm GoIndustry Dovebid SA to conduct the online auction.
Speaking to SA Commercial Prop News, Kim Faclier, MD of Property for GoIndustry Dovebid, part of Liquidity Services, said they have been working with Telkom since 2013 and are looking forward to another auction.
"We handled more than 20 auctions for Telkom around South Africa for the past few years with resounding results," she said.
The majority of the properties are in Gauteng which totals to 15, they include agricultural, commercial, and industrial zoned properties and are further divided into eight properties in Western Cape, three in Mpumalanga, five in KZN, one in Free State, eight in Limpopo, three in Mpumalanga, six in North West, two in Northern Cape, five in Eastern Cape.
Telkom’s 2019 integrated report shows that the company had an in-house portfolio of 1 332 properties by the end of March last year. But the company indicated that it was in the process of disposing non-core properties.
